With only one wedding taking place at a time, the Gardens are yours to experience with your guests. The result is a celebration that feels private, polished, and connected from beginning to end.
Bring together the photographers, florists, planners, DJs, rental companies, and other professionals who best reflect your vision. Rock Creek Gardens offers an open vendor policy, with catering selected from one of our partnered caterers.
The Day Begins
Wedding Party House
Your time at The Gardens begins in the Wedding Party House, a private two-story space reserved for you and your wedding party. Gather, get ready, and settle into the anticipation of the day ahead before making your way to the ceremony.
The house features a dedicated hair and makeup room with makeup lighting, two private dressing rooms, two restrooms, and a comfortable living room with space to gather throughout. Each room is yours to use in the way that best fits your wedding party, with natural light and views of the surrounding Gardens creating beautiful opportunities for photographs along the way.
The Ceremony
Garden Ceremony Beneath the Pergola or Facing the Grand Staircase
Exchange your vows beneath the pergola, with gardens and water as your backdrop.
With views extending across the gardens and estate, the ceremony location provides a stunning backdrop for your walk down the aisle, your first moments as a married couple, and the photographs that will preserve your memories for years to come.
For a dramatic ceremony setting, exchange your vows with the Grand Staircase as your backdrop. This orientation highlights the architecture and beauty of the estate while creating a breathtaking focal point for your ceremony, photographs, and the moment you make your entrance.
A separate set of classic white folding chairs is provided for the ceremony, allowing both ceremony and reception spaces to remain fully set.
Cocktail Hour
The Terrace and Upper Lawn
Following the ceremony, guests make their way to the Terrace and Upper Lawns for drinks, appetizers, and time to mingle.
Guests gather around cocktail tables, relax at wrought-iron tables beneath the trees, and enjoy views of the upper pond and surrounding gardens. The open layout creates an inviting setting to connect, wander the garden paths, and enjoy more of the property throughout cocktail hour.
Dinner and Dancing
The Reception Tent and Courtyard
As evening falls, dinner, toasts, and dancing take center stage beneath the chandeliers of the Reception Tent and café lights of the adjoining Courtyard. With room for up to 200 guests, the reception tent can take shape around your plans for the evening, from dining and dancing to personal touches and guest experiences such as a photo booth, late-night ice cream cart, or boba service.
A dedicated restroom building adjacent to the reception area includes three private stalls and a separate ADA-accessible family restroom.
