Rock Creek Gardens became a dedicated wedding venue in 2008, though its history spans decades.
The home, which is now the Wedding Party House, on the property was originally built in 1958 using bricks left over from the construction of the JBLM Officer’s Quarters. It served as the family home for the Morell family and their four children for more than 20 years. In 2005, after the children had grown, the family made a pivotal decision: sell the property or transform it into something meaningful and lasting. The Morells’ eldest daughter, Gracie, Founder and Venue Director, chose to create something magical.
From the beginning, the property was shaped to honor and preserve its natural landscape. Rather than altering the land, the design embraced its existing character, including mature cedar trees, stone features, and a tranquil pond. Over time, designed garden spaces were added to create a setting that feels both curated and organic, offering a peaceful backdrop for weddings and celebrations.
Today, Rock Creek Gardens features a variety of picturesque settings throughout the property, allowing couples to move naturally between spaces during their event. Guests experience a blend of outdoor garden surroundings and welcoming gathering areas designed for celebration, connection, and photography. With views of Mt. Rainier, winding stone pathways, and lush Pacific Northwest greenery, the venue offers an immersive setting that highlights the beauty of the region.
Since hosting its first wedding in 2008, Rock Creek Gardens has welcomed thousands of couples and guests from around the world, each adding to its ongoing story.
The Gardens is a place where all love is celebrated and welcomed, embracing couples of every gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and ability.
